IT Application Consultant SAP Finance & Controlling (m/f/d)

 

We are looking for an experienced SAP FI/CO Consultant (focus on CO) to take ownership of our global Controlling landscape and play a key role in our S/4HANA journey. You will be part of SGL’s Global Applications IT – Competence Center Finance & Controlling, responsible for supporting all Finance & Controlling related applications – mainly SAP and its integrated add-ons.

 

In this position, you will act as the technical expert for global financial processes with a strong functional and technical focus on Controlling (CO). Working closely with teams in Germany, Europe, Asia, and the U.S., you will optimize value flows across our organization and serve as the bridge between internal stakeholders and external partners.

 

Your Oportunity:

  • SAP CO Functional Expertise & Configuration: Full ownership of the CO module (CO-OM, CO-PC, CO-PA, EC-PCA); perform system customizing, manage Product Costing and Material Ledger processes, and ensure smooth integration with MM, PP, SD, PS, and PM
  • Requirement Engineering & Solution Design: Collaborate with Group Accounting to define process-driven requirements, challenge non-standard demands, and deliver sustainable IT solutions following SAP best practices
  • Global Operations & Support: Provide 2nd and 3rd level support, perform root-cause analysis, and manage Change Requests in line with ITIL and internal governance processes
  • S/4HANA Implementation & Projects: Take an active role in our S/4HANA transition - particularly in migration to the Universal Journal and Fiori-based reporting - and support international rollouts and upgrades

 

Your Profile:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience as an SAP FI/CO Consultant or Key User with a strong technical background
  • Proven expertise in Product Costing (CO-PC) and Material Ledger (ML) is essential.  Knowledge of CO-PA/margin Analysis and integration with MM/PP/SD is a must
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to understand and translate complex financial processes into SAP solutions
  • Experience in S/4HANA projects, particularly in migration and financial innovations, is an advantage
  • Excellent communication skills in English; German knowledge is a plus
  • Team player willing to collaborate in an international environment and travel occasionally
