Senior Internal Auditor (m/f/d)

Your opportunity:


  • Prepare and perform operational, financial and functional audit engagements throughout the sites in Europe, North America and Asia
  • Perform audit engagements as an audit lead as well as an audit team member
  • Identify areas for improvement and assist in the development of action plans
  • Communicate audit results to management
  • Perform and report on status of follow-up procedures to ensure implementation of audit recommendations
  • Act as an expert to develop business-oriented solutions to improve controls, mitigate risks, ensure process effectiveness and efficiency and meet corporate strategic objectives
  • Make recommendations for strengthening internal controls, improving operations and reducing costs
  • Improve the methodological and technical framework of SGL Carbon’s Group Internal Audit system


Your profile:


  • Excellent university degree in business administration, economics, finance, information systems or engineering
  • At least 5 years of professional experience, preferably in an international environment of an industrial manufacturer
  • Understanding of corporate governance related topics (risk management, compliance management, internal control management)
  • Distinct level of analytical thinking and entrepreneurial attitude with a results-driven mindset
  • Team player with strong communication skills
  • Good understanding of internal business processes 
  • Willingness to travel regularly
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office, SAP R/3 (modules, audit procedures) and data analytics software
  • Fluent in written and spoken English and German
