Sr. Technical Sales Manager Northern Territory

Summary of Job Content:
Technical Sales for flexible graphite Products within assigned regional territory. Interactions with direct customers and end-users to promote and consult on flexible graphite technical characteristics. 
• Manage customer and end user base encompassing multiple states IL, IN, OH, MI, WI, MN, IA, MO, WV, ND, SD, NE KS, PA, KY, and Central Canada.
• Responsible for sales and customers within the territory 
• Implements worldwide pricing and marketing strategies that is consistent with the EG Product Segment.
• Develops and implements sales and territory strategies for customers and end users in geographical region in alignment with the Regional Sales Director.
• Transfer customer needs into technical specifications and ensures technical feasibility
• Manage CRM system for sales, opportunities, and reporting.
• Interface with customer and end user technical people to secures product and technical specifications at end user and technical associations.
• Provide monthly reports summarizing sales within Product Segment EG and derive measures.
• Review and monitor Gross Margin by product and customer to make sure they are in line with  targets.
• Responsible for sales and marketing of Expanded Graphite products in geographical region
• Has to work with Valencia production site for flexible graphite foil and yarn products.
• Multiple product families – rolls, sheets, reinforced sheets, purity levels, inhibited materials, powder products, gasket products, tapes, and yarn products.
• Initiate and maintain contacts with end users in geographical region.


SPECIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES OR TASKS (which have an impact on the complexity of the job)
1.Sales & Marketing

• Supports bottom-up planning of annual sales (quarterly) and department budgets (yearly)
• Monitors and report on regional progress or issues from a Sales and Marketing perspective of the flexible graphite foil and yarn business (i.e. markets, products, competition, customers, etc.).
• Interface with commercial customers and end users to develop business and customer specific strategies.
• Identify new product opportunities
• Execute price and contract negotiations with commercial customers 


2.People Management & Communication
• Maintains and coordinates open communication with operations and quality teams in Valencia.
• Identifies and communicates critical needs within the flexible graphite foil, powders and yarn businesses from a customer and market perspective to Product Management Team
• Communication within global sales team to align strategies on global customers. 
• Time and territory Strategy to support growth strategy.


• Ability to work in and with outside sales organizations
• Strong communication skills
• Fluent in English (written and verbal) 
• Time and Territory management experience
• Knowledge of software (SAP, CRM, MS Office)
• Strong affinity to technical products 
• Travel approximately 65% of the time (auto and air travel)
• Travel expense budget of approximately $15,000 to $25,000 per year

This is a regional role, living in any of these states is a requirement: IL, IN, OH, MI, WI, MN, IA, MO, WV, ND, SD, NE KS, PA, KY, and Central Canada.


• Bachelor or master’s degree in engineering (Mechanical or Chemical)
• Minimum 3-5 years of technical sales experience (sealing products a plus)


Work Environment:
This position is remote and may works in an office environment (when traveling to the sites),  and may be into a noisy plant environment.  The employee will rarely be near moving mechanical parts and high temperature equipment and may on occasion be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, risk of electrical shock, heat or dangerous chemicals.
