Shipper

Position Summary

This position requires assembling/staging/packing of parts for shipping, making truck arrangements as per the instructions on the Sales Order, and stocking of inventoried parts. Basic skills like tow motor and overhead crane operation are required. Working with outside freight companies and coordinating the shop management to align on timing for trucks. Maintains stores/warehouse area. Some support in the assembly area is also required, so experience with basic tooling (i.e. torque wrenches, lifting straps, etc.) is useful. Blue-print reading skills are also a big plus. Good communication skills with the other assemblers, machinists, and engineering group are also required.

  • Ability to follow working detail drawings as designed
  • General maintenance of tools and equipment
  • Safety conscious with safety training background

 

Your Profile 

  • High School diploma
  • 3 years of experience in a fabrication facility
  • Ability to work with little supervision as part of a team
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with others regarding technical issues
  • Ability to work with shop, management, and technical personnel
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software and pc file management

 

Physical Demands
Stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, lift, push, pull, talk, hear, close and distance vision, depth and peripheral perception; lift up to 50 lbs.
