Production Expediter/Planner

The Production Expeditor/Planner is responsible for orchestrating the seamless flow of materials and production processes within our manufacturing environment.  This includes but is not limited to expediting orders, orchestrating cross-departmental coordination, and meticulously monitoring production schedules to ensure timely delivery and efficient workflow.  It is also responsible for all detail order processing activities which support the supply side of the site SOP (Sales and Operations Planning), namely work orders, short orders, expedites, reschedules, change notices, change of methods and entering purchase orders. 

 

Your Opportunity: 

  • Collaborate with production supervisors to prioritze work orders and allocate resources accordingly. 
  • Expedite urgent orders and address any bottlenecks in the production process to minimize delays.
  • Demonstrate a proactive attitude toward expediting orders and addressing potential production delays.  Actively seek out opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency, ensure taks are completed promptly, and deadlines are met. 
  • Monitor production schedules and deadlines to ensure timely completion of orders. 
  • Communicate with relevant departments to ensure seamless flow of materials and information throughout the production cycle. 
  • Frequently required to identify the location and status of products and work with production to develop plans to bring the orders back on schedule. 
  • Finite (vs. master) scheduling of production orders within SAP in support of and directed by the Master Production Scheduler. Activities include the creation, confirmation, rescheduling, communication and distribution of these orders. 
  • Supports development, implementation, measurement, and maintenance of the functional supply system (MPS/MRP).  Integrates best practice procedures and drive for continuous improvement. 
  • Close communication with Customer Service and Production departments on changes to the detail production and delivery schedule.  Monitors the unconfirmed backlog of customer orders to ensure timely response (24-48 hours). 
  • Daily monitoring and scheduling of short orders. 
  • Optimize material selection to best utilization of off-fall, adjust production routings as needed when  using alternate materials.

Your Profile: 

  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and other departments 
  • Proficient computer skills (email, scan & upload documents, Internet, Microsoft Office applications, etc.)  Previous experience with SAP/MRP systems is preferred. 
  • Proficient in multitasking, effectively managing multiple tasks and priorities concurrently. 
  • Previous production planning experience is preferred. 
  • Previous experience working collaboratively across multi-functional teams is preferred.
