Technician, Quality

The Inspection Technician works closely with the Quality Supervisor to perform first article, in-process and final inspections of all machined parts using precision gauging and CMM equipment.  This position also calibrates measuring equipment, maintains calibration system and maintains inspection area and related files. 


Key Accountabilities: 

  • Follows all safety procedures and works in a safe manner
  • Read and follow work order instructions
  • Assures quality products through precision gaging and the use of coordinate measuring machines (CMM)
  • Maintains traceability throughout the process  
  • Interprets blueprints
  • Evaluates fully or partially machined parts against samples, drawings, or blueprints
  • Performs in-process inspection of complex machined parts 
  • Informs machinist of the extent of differences between print nominal and actual dimensions 
  • Performs final inspection of complex machined parts
  • Calibrates inspection equipment as required
  • Performs any necessary clerical duties as required

Your Profile: 

  • Two years’ experience in Quality Control and inspection of machined parts
  • Advanced training or vocational certification preferred
  • Knowledge of all measuring equipment used for inspection of machined graphite parts
  • Experience programming coordinate measuring machines
  • Proficiency in basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division), converting fractions to decimals
  • Ability to read and understand complex blueprints
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
