Manufacturing Coordinator, Tool Room
Position Summary: This position is responsible for supporting all production employees in the CNC Lathe, CNC Mill, Manual Lathe and Rough Machining departments. Must also support / participate actively in 5S Audits, Projects, and Safety initiatives. This position requires knowledge of blueprint reading, machine tooling Manual and CNC operation. Coordinator must be able to multi-task. Coordinator must communicate with and assist Production Manager, other supervisors, and departments throughout the site. The coordinator must be an active proponent of safety and safety initiatives. The coordinator is responsible for monitoring tooling in the SSP plant and assuring that all needed supplies are ordered to support the on-time targets of the plant. The coordinator will work closely with the Production Manager, Planning and Engineering to provide solutions to various issues including capacity constraints and machine breakdowns.
Key Accountabilities:
- Manages tooling required to complete jobs on-time.
- Assists with all assigned operations at the Sinking Spring facility to established manufacturing specifications within production schedules, cooperating with other departments to assure proper product flow.
- Keeps proper authorities notified of issues concerning production, schedules, quality or scrap problems.
- Safeguards all company property and sees that all tools and equipment are in good operating condition and maintains work areas in a neat, orderly and safe manner.
- Assists in set-ups and runs production jobs.
- Assists production with machining instructions.
- Assists employees on tooling software and safe working procedures.
- Assists in implementing, administering and training employees in company policies and procedures.
- Performs JSA's and assists in training employees in safe work practices.
- Assists in resolving work problems.
- Interprets company policies and safety regulations to employees.
- Assists in establishing or adjusting work procedures to meet production schedules.
- Assists in gathering, computes, records and compiles data for production, cost, quality, near miss or accident reports.
- Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product.
- Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increse efficiency of department or work crew.
- Performs other duties as required to support SSP's goals.
Your Profile:
- Associate degree in technical discipline or five years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Working knowledge of computers, including SAP
- Working knowledge of production orders and machine tooling inventory
- Familiarity with inspection techniques
