Lathe Operator

Position Summary: 

The Lathe Operator operates machines requiring a moderate skill level to change the shape or condition or new materials.  Must also be able to understand blueprints and oeprate with little supervision.  Must be proficient in making all necessary machine adjustments to provide parts within specified tolerances. 

Key Accountabilities: 

• Follows all safety procedures and works in a safe manner
• Read and follow work instructions
• Operates machine to accurately produce parts within tolerances 
• Changes machine tooling
• Operates lifting devices
• Completes first article inspection forms
• Inspects parts as machined
• Performs basic math functions

• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Low-level decision making skills
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to read a tape measure, use all hand measuring tools
• Ability to read blueprints
