Senior Maintenance Engineer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Maintenance Engineer with a ‘can-do’ attitude to join our Maintenance Department in Muir of Ord.

Your opportunity: 

  • Responsible for the daily supervision of all Maintenance Technicians, Apprentices and Shift Technicians in all maintenance tasks and activities associated with the manufacturing processes.
  • Responsible for the issue and control of Permit to Works (PTW) and ensure safe working procedures are adhered to.
  • Ensure that all Maintenance and Project activities are undertaken in compliance with statutory and company requirements in relation to Quality, Environmental and Health & Safety.
  • Supervision of the maintenance team, responsible for the planned and reactive maintenance of all equipment on site.
  • Maintenance Strategy – help to develop and implement the maintenance strategy
  • Monitor, control and update Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Support Plant Development, Systems Engineers and Project Engineering on current and new process developments.
  • Lead the coordination and planning of scheduled maintenance shutdowns.
  • Assist Lead Reliability Engineer with root cause investigation to eliminate failure.
  • Assist in the design, commissioning and maintenance of new and current assets, in order to maintain operational performance.
  • Interaction with the Production and Process Engineering Team to identify issues and plan Maintenance activities, in order to minimise downtime and resolve technical problems.
  • Motivate, inspire and engage with the team.
  • Contribute to the development of the maintenance team including training, performance and mentoring.
  • Liaise with vendors and manage maintenance related contractors whilst on site.
  • Alongside the Stores Department, ensure that appropriate critical electrical spares are held in stock at all times.

 

Your Profile: 

  • ONC/HNC, City & Guilds or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline, with equivalent experience at a relevant engineering-management level.
  • Proven experience and demonstratable success within a similar position
  • 17th/18th Edition IEE Regulations
  • Supervision experience with Strong Electrical bias
  • Experience in implementing different maintenance systems and strategies
  • Strong technical understanding of electrical engineering concepts, and interfaces with mechanical engineering activities.
  • An ability to work well under pressure
  • Efficiency and organisation
  • Teamworking skills
  • An excellent communicator. Clear and concise instruction. Listen and ensure mutual understanding. Ask for input from others to reach the best result.

 

Desirable: 

  • Strong electrical skills ideally in an industrial environment.
  • Working knowledge of PLC systems.
  • Experience of SAP or an equivalent CMMS system.

Please note: This role is offered on a Permanent and Full Time Basis, 40hrs per week (Monday-Friday)
