Site Manager

Days, M-Th 7:00 am – 4:30 pm, Fri 7:00 am - 11:00 am

SALARY
$136,000 - $204,000


SUMMARY OF JOB CONTENTS 

Plans, directs, and coordinates all strategic and operational activities of a medium size plant of up to 195 employees including production, materials, quality control, and manufacturing engineering, to produce products in the most cost-effective way while meeting shipping requirements and sales commitments.  Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide site personnel with a clear sense of direction and focus. Implement processes that will drive continuous improvement, in order to maximize stewardship, safety, quality and productivity. 
    
Ensure the decisions and direction of the plant is within all legal regulations concerning environment, health and safety, as well as, with defined standards and procedures. Interact closely with support functions, e.g. HR management, manufacturing engineering, materials, quality control, plant accounting, plant engineering and maintenance. 
    
This position makes decisions that may significantly impact the Company financially and the image and reputation of the Company.

 
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES 

  • Ensures that products are produced on time, of good quality, and meet or exceed all customer and company standards.
  • Enforces a strong safety culture at the site. Complies with the procedures and best practices to ensure prevention of accidents and continuous improvement of quality, environment, safety, and energy levels.
  • Directs all operation functions and ensures cost effectiveness and consistency with pre-described quality, accuracy and performance standards-therefore, develops and manages a setup of KPls and objectives on site to easily review the current performance and identify potential gaps and risks for the business. Proposes corrective measures.
  • Manages inventories and commercial obligations to optimize working capital requirements
  • Promotes the organizational changes as per the company strategy aiming the business success.
  • Drives continuous improvement through implementation of continuous improvement (CIP) principles and best practices
  • Ensures effective internal plant communication and reporting procedure.
  • Ensures compliance with legally mandatory rules, company and group rules and social responsibility.
  • Represent the company before all public authorities, ensuring organizational identity and based on the Company Board of Management international manufacturing company decisions for the strategy and policies in place.
  • Responsible for staff recruitment, training & development within the area of responsibility. Ensures effective procedures for management development, review, and control of performance by and for key managers in the assigned area.


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE 

  • BS/Technical University Degree (e.g. Material Sciences, Engineering, Business Management or related field) and a minimum of 5 years of experience managing a manufacturing plant
  • Broad background in manufacturing technology management experiences preferably in a carbon fiber manufacturing plant.
  • Strong communication, planning, organizational, leadership and managerial skills required.
  • Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation and human resources).
  • Ability to motivate employees to keep operations running smoothly.
  • Fluent in English
  • Required knowledge in the following areas: Quality Assurance, ESHA regulations, Legal regulations (e.g. labor law), Engineering, Project Management, Finance & Accounting
  • Ability and experience speaking in large group formats internally and to higher level management.
