Process Supervisor

SUMMARY OF JOB CONTENTS

The Process Supervisor will perform under the direction and supervision of the Production Shift Manager and safely executes and trains to all duties as outlined in the Standard Production Work Instructions & Procedures. This individual has the responsibility for the safe production and packaging of all Carbon Fiber products as per their specifications, and the overall daily activities of any production line(s) and process buildings assigned to.

 

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILTIES

Supervisor

  • Ensure all required procedures and policies are met and that team members perform the required functions in a safe, timely and effective manner to meet company objectives for safety, quality, productivity and costs.
  • Ensure proper techniques are used in key situations such as correcting wraps, splicing, etc. by supporting the training of Operators/Trainers to current Operating Policies & Procedures.
  • Responsible to support your Shift Manager in creating and in maintaining a positive team culture and to assist co-workers in performing tasks, as necessary.
  • Accountable to oversee and be personally responsible for proper operator training.
  • Under the direction of the Shift Manager, assign operational tasks per established manufacturing specifications within production schedules cooperating with other departments to assure proper product flow.
  • Safeguards all company property and sees that all tools and equipment are in good operating condition and maintains work areas in a neat, orderly and safe manner (6S).
  • Responsible for equipment cleanliness and efficient/proficient performance.
  • Responsible to support and uphold disciplinary actions or other managerial responsibilities required by the Production Shift Manager and/or Production Manager.

Senior Supervisor

  • Perform all duties listed above.
  • Maintain certifications for powered lift truck, scissor lift and aerial lift.
  • Maintain certification as a Work Permit Authorized signer through knowledge-based testing.
  • Participate in team member development including performance management.

Expert Supervisor

  • Perform all duties listed above.
  • Must act as a mentor to upcoming operators and guide them through the process to achieve Expert Operator status.
  • Develop knowledge of the entire process from Creel through Packaging including Abatement system.
  • Perform minor maintenance duties and troubleshooting.

Chief Supervisor

  • Perform all duties listed above.
  • Must suggest, develop and oversee process improvements, from inception to implementation.
  • Continuously develop leadership skills through structured training.

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

Supervisor

  • Must have and maintain an excellent safety and attendance record.
  • Must meet and maintain a Level 2 qualification status for all Production Trainer Benchmarks as outlined in the Production Performance Assessment Training Curriculum.
  • Must be able to work rotating shift schedule.
  • 2+ years leadership experience preferred.
  • Work independently without close supervision and make efficient and effective decisions.
  • Must be task & deadline oriented.
  • Must possess an overall knowledge of plant equipment machinery and be able to learn processes and train new and current team members to them.
  • Must be able to monitor fiber line processes and react safely, decisively and quickly to process problems.
  • Must monitor fiber quality and ensure spool size and size content meet product specifications.
  • Must quickly, safely and consistently respond to production line issues.
  • Must properly maintain all equipment and tools; including but not limited to PPE and uniforms.
  • Must support and participate in all 5S & 6S processes and practices.
  • Have excellent trainer, customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Have excellent mathematical ability.
  • Have excellent computer skills.
  • Have a high school diploma or equivilant.
Senior Supervisor 
  • Must meet all above knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Must have 1 year of Supervisory experience in carbon fiber manufacturing.
  • Must have maintained an exemplary standing in regard to performance and attendance for the past 6 months. (no written warnings or above)
  • Must maintain CPR and first aid certification.
  • Must have received a satisfactory evaluation from management.

Expert Supervisor

  • Must meet all above knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Must have 1 year of experience as a Senior Supervisor.
  • Must be cross trained in all aspects of the process (input section, process, abatement, packaging, lab, logistics)
  • Must have mentored at least 1 operator through the tiered structure from operator to expert operator.
  • Must maintain a 100% LOTO accuracy rating as well as a perfect safety record in the previous 6 months
  • Must have reached an entry level maintenance qualification.

Chief Supervisor

  • Must meet all above knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Must have 2 years of experience as an Expert Supervisor.
  • Must have overseen at least 1 process improvement project from inception through implementation.
  • Completed training from an approved leadership development class.

While performing the functions of this job, the employee is continuously required to stand, walk; regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms; occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk or hear.

Employees must occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds and repetitively lift and carry 35 lbs and push or pull up to 60 pounds. Must be able to control and manipulate pallet lifting device.  Must be able to prove ability to safely and efficiently manipulate CF material through winders/rollers.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the functions of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to extreme heat, minimal concentration of chemicals and HCN below DOSH standards, frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is below OSHA required PPE levels but considered loud in some areas.

RATE INFORMATION
$28.00 - $32.00 Hourly + night and weekend shift differentials (2.50-7.50%) *Opportunity to move up the ladder rapidly
