Process Engineer




This position develops and maintains an overall knowledge of the facility’s processes, products, and tests and evaluates the processes and products to make recommendations and improvements in quality, productivity, safety and costs. This position is also responsible for minor capital project development (less than $250K), execution, and start-up.  This position also has responsibilities for commissioning and start-up of large capital projects (>$250K and up to $120MM) as well as developing operational procedures for all new processes and equipment and for responsibility of the management of change process. Technical sales support and product tailoring or troubleshooting is also part of the job scope.




Key Accountabilities

  • Develop and implement plans for startup of facilities and production processes
  • Studies, evaluates and recommends changes in the production process to assure improved quality and increased production at the lowest controllable cost.
  • Develops and performs experimental process tests with respect to quality, method, cost, etc. and reports on such.
  • Monitor process to ensure that manufacturing specifications and procedures are adhered to.
  • Assists the departmental manager and other personnel with technical advice and specification interpretation to assure quality production, keeping their supervisor and the departmental manager advised when manufacturing specifications are not followed.
  • Active member of cost reduction initiative
  • Maintain and update quality programs (ISO, Six Sigma)



Preferred Knowledge / Skills / Experience

  • 4 year college degree in Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial or Materials Engineering.
  • 2 years engineering experience preferred at a manufacturing/industrial facility. 
  • Carbon fiber or composites experience preferred. 
  • Very strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Proven excellent analysis/problem solving skills.
  • Strong computer skills. 
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail. Must be task oriented and able to meet deadlines.
  • Able to work well on own without close supervision and make efficient and effective decisions.
  • High level of mathematical ability.

This position works in an office with moderate noise.  Also requires employee to regularly work within the plant with moderate noise, heat and fibers; moving around working machinery; walking up and down stairs and ladders; assessing equipment on platforms and other areas in awkward positions. 


This position requires travel.


$80,000 - $120,000 year



M-Th 7a-4p, Fridays, 7a-11a, flex scehdule
