Manager, Enviro Health & Safety
The purpose of this position is to direct and manage the environmental, health and safety program. To maintain compliance with all applicable regulations and prevent injuries by conducting training, plant audits, incident investigations, and follow-up corrective action. Provide guidance to the site and each department so corporate, site, departmental and individual environmental, safety goals and objectives are met. Assure that the site complies with regulatory, company and corporate requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Interface agencies.
- Manage worker’s compensation claims
- OSHA Recordkeeping (OSHA Form 300, 300A, 301).
- SGL Incident Reports, Safety & Environmental data collection and reporting.
- Promote and support improvement of EHS performance by identifying hazards, risks and developing recommendations and related action plans.
- Develop, implement, monitor and maintain strategies, procedures and best practices for maintaining OSHA, Environmental and company compliance.
- Coordinate the safety and health portion of the site’s EHSA training program to ensure compliance with the SGL EHSA Training Policy and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct and/or coordinate the New Hire Health and Safety Orientation Program training.
- Conduct Plant Safety Committee meetings
- Lead and assist in incident investigation for any incidents involving employee environmental, safety and health. Determine root cause of the incident, assemble an incident investigation team to determine best corrective action measures, and verify implementation of the corrective action measures.
- Develop, implement and track corrective actions to completion.
- Participate in the development of EHS incentive and awareness programs and activities.
- Meet with State and Federal OSHA and Environmental inspectors that visit the site.
- Develop, implement, monitor and maintain the safety and health-related EHSA compliance programs and procedures.
- Stay current with applicable environmental, safety and health-related regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate compliance programs with responsible site personnel.
- Assist with development of environmental, health and safety budgets.
- Participate in the Management of Change (MOC) Procedure
- Manage and promote ergonomic improvement.
- Manage an industrial hygiene monitoring program. Attend seminars and workshops to stay current with the regulations and safety management methods, strategies and techniques.
Your Profile:
- B.S. in Safety, Environmental, or related field required.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred.
- Minimum 3 - 5 years of related experience.
- Knowledge of applicable safety codes, regulations, and procedures.
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization as well as with customers and regulatory agencies.
- Proficient in MS Office products with emphasis on EXCEL, PowerPoint and Word.
- Bilingual (Spanish) a must.
Work Environment:
This position works in both an office environment and a noisy plant environment. The employee will regularly be working near moving mechanical parts and high temperature equipment, and may on occasion be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, risk of electrical shock, heat or dangerous chemicals. Salary range for this position is $110,000 - $120,000 and is commensurate with experience.
