Operational Buyer

This position is responsible for managing the effective and efficient purchasing of components, commodities, services, and capital equipment for the sites in North America. Focus on long term vision for company and commodities and an industry knowledge expert. This position is responsible for the implementation of the initiatives of Global Purchasing.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Support storeroom, maintenance, engineers, and plant management requests.
  • Review and process requisitions into purchase orders. Compare against "Text, Price, INCOTERMS, Payment Terms and Delivery Time."
  • Maintain purchase orders with confirmations, correct costs, and correct delivery dates including past due follow ups and order cancellations.
  • Create and maintain material masters, info records and source lists for new and potential existing materials.
  • Problem solve supplier payment issues and work with accounts payable.
  • Process returns/credits
  • Maintain supplier relationship to ensure open communication on deliveries, quality issues, and pricing changes
  • Execute RFQs via email and request drawings from Engineering when necessary.
  • Support supply chain and strategic buyer when necessary
  • Manage the group email folder
  • Work with engineering to ensure Contractor Safety Acknowledgements are signed and returned
  • Ensure POs for Onsite Services are signed and returned
  • Support BuyTogether topic
  • Request any necessary documentation (SCOCs, delivery notes/packing slips, certificates)

 

Your Profile:

  • Associates Degree from Accredited University or College and/or 3-5 years of related experience
  • Must have experience with SAP
  • Must exhibit a professional appearance and mature demeanor.
  • Knowledge and understanding of procurement processes.
  • Knowledge and understanding of manufacturing.
  • Proficient in Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem solver
  • Self Starter, Proactive
  • Analytic thinker
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to successfully prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to work well with others and respect different cultures
  • Skilled in handling confidential business matters and information with discretion
  • Fluent in English and preferably other languages
  • Ability to coach/train new employees with their onboarding to the various procurement.
