HRIT Functional Analyst

SGL Carbon's North American Shared Services Center in Charlotte, North Carolina headquarters SGL Carbon, LLC in  North America. The Shared Services Center is comprised of approximately 50 employees who support the SGL Carbon Business Units by providing quality services, leadership and accountability through excellence, teamwork, open and continuous communication, integrity and passion for success.  All key administrative functions are represented at the Charlotte, NC site.

 

Responsibilities will include acting as HR liaison to the HR Center of Excellence Digital Processes and Data for HR business process integration with new software or upgrades to already existing software, optimizing performance of HR management and HR systems by developing new or optimizing already existing HR processes, responsible for maintaining process documentation, execution of HR system and process training for HR colleagues, compiling data and developing reports to support performance metric analysis and to support regulatory compliance reporting.

 

ABOUT THE JOB

  • This role is responsible for the configuration, implementation and upkeep of the HR Payroll, TIME and Benefits systems, compliance reporting and HR strategies, to align with the HR Groups goals and responsibilities.
  • The Functional Analyst analyzes business requirements, creates functional design documents, and performs ERP system configuration and customization to provide system solutions for the HR Group.
  • The FA is as an integral strategic partner and business liaison in technology decisions and provides all ongoing systems support. This role focuses on analyzing and improving HR processes and system functionalities, such as data management, system enhancements, compliance and reporting, and issue resolution.
  • The FA develops new processes based on technology solutions and optimizes already existing HR processes, they are responsible for maintaining process documentation, execution of HR system and process training for HR colleagues, compiling data and developing reports and insights to guide HR strategies and decisions.

 

WORK YOU'LL DO

Business Support and Technical Consulting:

  • Troubleshoots issues from internal customers regarding payroll, benefits, taxes, paid time off, system access, and other human resource and payroll management issues.
  • Support HR IT organization with short- and long-term systems objectives.
  • Maintain or Lead US Payroll, Benefits and Time system related projects including system/module implementation, system upgrade testing and rollouts, and system maintenance.
  • Analyze end-to-end complex HR, Payroll, Benefits and Time business processes across HR business functional areas and implement and support integrated solutions.
  • Responsible for the development and training documentation and system training for HR colleagues.
  • Responsible for the generation and of data necessary for regulatory reporting related to EEO-1, Affirmative Action, California Pay Data, AAP and VETS and other external federal and state regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Responsible for prioritizing, coordinating, and managing US HR IT related user requests in coordination with Global Center of Excellence for Digital Processes and Data.
  • Ensures system compliance with US data security and privacy requirements.
  • Advanced Reporting: create and maintain HR reports, dashboards, and analytics to provide accurate and timely HR/Payroll/Time data for management decision-making. Customize reports and dashboards to meet the needs of various stakeholders.
  • Identify areas for process improvement within HR systems and recommend, design, and implement solutions that enhance system functionality, streamline workflows, and improve the user experience.
  • Collaborate with the IT department and vendors to ensure seamless integration of HR systems with other systems and troubleshoot any technical issues.

Functional Analysis:

  • Automate/optimize Dayforce and SAP Payroll processes and analyze upgrade impacts of SuccessFactors and Dayforce.
  • Map business requirements to SuccessFactors and Dayforce system capabilities and configure to meet requirements.
  • Review design and technical specification documents for alignment with business solution.
  • Perform complex configuration of Dayforce and SAP and SuccessFactors (for Payroll integration), perform quality review and testing activities.

Additional Distinguishing Characteristics of the Job:

  • Able to analyze and design solutions independently even on complex projects (Dayforce US Payroll, Benefits, Time, Success Factors HR data integration, SAP ERP Payroll integration) and other related external systems.
  • Develop a community that drives standard business processes through the technology solutions.
  • Demonstrate broad knowledge of industry best practices for ERP projects and support. This position also requires knowledge of business processes for all corresponding HR business functional areas and integration to other software solutions.
  • Maintain industry knowledge of HR Payroll systems and understand future capabilities/roadmap of the utilized systems for HR, Payroll, Benefits and Time.

 

EXPERIENCE

  • MA/MS in Computer Science/ Information Systems, Business, Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 10 Years of experience with HR IS or HR software experience.
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently and solely responsible to support Payroll, Benefits and Time systems
  • Extensive participation in projects of high complexity or simultaneous participation in multiple projects of medium to high complexity
  • Experience in Manufacturing industry (Hourly and union workforce) desirable.
  • A Certified Payroll Professional or Fundamentals of Payroll Certification a plus but not required.
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standard solutions exist.
  • Ability to deal with competing priorities with tight deadlines.
  • Solid HR Payroll Business acumen.

 

SKILLS

  • Ability to collaborate, provide technical support, and train HR and Payroll colleagues
  • Exceptional interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of US employment, wage and hour, benefit and labor laws and regulations.
  • Ability to quickly learn new software platforms
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Experience in process documentation.
  • Preferred software hands on experience: Dayforce (Payroll, Time WFM, Benefits, SAP SuccessFactors EC, SAP ECC S/4 Hana Payroll integration, Abap, SF integration SAP Cloud Platform CPI
  • Preferred – strong proficiency in integrations (API, EDI, flat-file processing) alongside troubleshooting and data mapping capabilities.   #CB1
