Summary of Job Content:

Demonstrates a clear knowledge of all Arkadelphia Battery Case processes and equipment. Performs & responsible for work cell component production and ensures that pre-shipment packaging requirements are met. Demonstrates ability to work independently and self-paced, to meet production demands.  Ensures job performance and safety measures are met. Supports skills and safety training of other production employees.

Controls work pace and progress on equipment, requiring awareness of links with other process areas. Operates within established work routines and occasional supervisory checks.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for interpreting and execution of operation plans, task procedures, work order instructions, supplementary instructions, manufacturer's and customer's specifications, Material Data Sheets/SDS and safety rules.
  • Follows and completes work order instructions as required by company policy.
  • Coordinates a series of operations or task areas with median cycle time under explicit instruction and close supervision.
  • Uses measuring devices such as rulers, tape measure, scale, calipers, micrometer, and dial indicators.
  • Effectively learns enter data into mobysis for work order times.
  • Comprehends US and Metric measurement scale.
  • Effectively comprehends and follows verbal instructions.
  • Prepares, Sets-up, Operates, Loads, Unloads and Monitors advanced specialized equipment to process components to a designed process and takt time.
  • Monitors digital programmable controllers, Robotics, hoists and lifts, hydraulic and pneumatic apparatuses.
  • Trains coworkers on necessary tasks with accuracy, setting clear understanding of quality objectives.
  • Use hand tools such as, but not limited to, Scissors, knives, snips, pliers, mallets/hammers, wrenches, and screwdrivers.

  • Ability to speak effectively before groups, other employees in process knowledge and lessons learned sharing.

Experiences:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one-year related experience. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted.
  • Operational knowledge and experience using robotic or other advanced mechanical processes.
  • Able to be medically certified to wear a respirator.
  • Forklift Operator License and Hazardous Material Handling are a plus.
  • OSHA 30 Certification a plus. #CB1

 

Work Environment:

This position works in a noisy plant environment.  The employee will regularly be working near moving mechanical parts and high temperature equipment and may on occasion be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, risk of electrical shock, heat, or dangerous chemicals.
